PAUL STEINITZ

  • Paul Steinitz is a French photographer with decades of experience in the fashion industry. He has photographed for Alexander McQueen, Dior, Jeremy Scott, and John Galliano among countless others.

    Born in Verberie, France in 1968, Steinitz was raised in Paris where he decided at the age of sixteen to consecrate his life to the field of photography. In 1985, he moved to New York where he opened hIs first gallery, the Prisunic Gallery in the Meatpacking District.

    Following his success in New York, Steinitz moved to Tel Aviv where he exhibited his first series of palladium prints at the Museum of Contemporary Art. After over a decade abroad, Steinitz repatriated to Paris in 1998 where he married Somalian supermodel Ebyan Seren Abdi Halane.

    Halane became somewhat of a muse for Steinitz, influencing him to start a magazine, Amaan, where he published biannual books featuring contemporary fashion photography. Some of the many models SteinItz worked with in this period include Adriana Lima, Fernanda Tavares, Natasha Vojnovic, and Noémie Lenoir.

    Steinitz continues augmenting his prolific body of work today, featuring in a number of prominent museum exhibitions including a widely acclaimed 2010 retrospective at MOMA Moscow.
